When Neverwinter fell into chaos and anarchy, Sigil followed suit. The health of Sigil is connected to the health of the multiverse. The city of Sigil, the great city at the center of The Great Wheel, the lynchpin that holds the planes together and keeps the Multiverse from falling apart. The heroes were soon defeated, and the people of Neverwinter, those that survived, raised their walls higher and improved their guard to keep from falling. Heroes would attempt to rise up and defend the city, only to temporarily thwart the threats who would keep rising and returning. To seize control of the Sword Coast, of Faerun, and of the world of Toril. With the city failing, many would siege Neverwinter, in an attempt to grab it. The city was in shambles, and with it, the hope of the people of the Sword Coast. The city faced a crisis following the Spellplague and later, the eruption of Mount Hotenow.
Once it was the premier trade city of the Sword Coast, but now it's but a former husk of itself.
